BuildFreedom.US

We need to close the skills gap. Our freedom depends on it.

We want you. It’s your opportunity to get skilled, get paid and be part of something that matters to you, your family and your country. We need people – now – to build, repair, sustain and staff the skill sets our nation’s security depends on. It’s hands-on, high-paying, high-impact work. And it starts here, at BuildFreedom.US.

America's Workforce Academy (built by Meta)

People are building things in America again.

America’s Workforce Academy (AWA) is a nationwide, unprecedented fast-track to a long-term career in a skilled trade. It's a program that supports all participants while they learn and then guarantees a job for all graduates.

Paid training. A job. And a path to America’s future.

  • Open to qualified veterans, recent graduates, career changers and other new entrants to the trades from all 50 states.
  • No prior experience required.
  • Meta funds all costs, with its operating partner administering the program to provide candidates with tuition, airfare, lodging, and a daily stipend during training.

A credential that opens doors.

The United States labor market needs hundreds of thousands of fiber technicians, welders, plumbers, electricians and other skilled trade workers. At Meta, we see this as an incredible opportunity for these American heroes to power America’s future.

Every graduate will leave with a verified, industry-standard credential in high-demand fields such as electrical work, mechanical systems and plumbing.

Law Enforcement Exploring Program

Law Enforcement Exploring Program

Washington PD offers a Law Enforcement Exploring Program through Scouting America (FKA Boy Scouts of America). The program is for teens aged 14-20 who are interested in Law Enforcement as a career path. More or less, our program meets a few times a month in the evening and we teach them the ins and outs of law enforcement so they can make informed decisions.

Our program is part of the St. Louis Area Law Enforcement Exploring Association. This means our participants get exposed to other departments (Local, state, and federal) and their exploring programs. In the summer, they put on a week-long mock police academy to show explorers what the real thing is like. This has been put on for the past 30+ years and it's a huge hit with the participants.

Have them reach out to Cpl. Mindy Schmelz with WPD at mschmelz@washmo.gov and she can send out applications or drop them off at FRCC. This is open to male/female and it's not restricted to SDOW residents, out of district residents can participate provided they can make it to meetings and events.
