The School District of Washington will host a Meet and Greet event for incoming superintendent Dr. Cassandra Suggs on Sunday, May 31, from 3-6 p.m. at the Board of Education Office, 220 Locust Street.

Washington Middle School recognized its students of the week for April and May, 2026. The students were nominated by their team’s teachers as part of the #Blue Jay Way-Positive Behavior Program.

Dr. Nicole Wilmes Named Acting Interim Principal at Washington High School for 2026-27 School Year
The School District of Washington has announced that current assistant principal Dr. Nicole Wilmes will serve as the Acting Interim Principal at Washington High School for the 2026-27 school year.
Practical Nursing Transfer to East Central College
East Central College (ECC) and the School District of Washington (SDOW) have entered into an agreement to transfer the Washington School of Practical Nursing to ECC. In full transparency, ECC is in the process of pursuing a change of sponsorship through the Missouri State Board of Nursing (MSBN). As a result, ECC will assume fiscal responsibility for the program and become the sole grantor of the certificate beginning August 1, 2026.
With this transition, ECC remains deeply committed to preserving the integrity of the program and adherence to all current and ongoing accreditation standards. The program will continue to serve our Washington service region and will remain housed at Four Rivers Career Center. Our shared priority throughout this process is to ensure a seamless transition and avoid any disruption to the program or its planned start dates.
