Information Technology Program

The Information Technology (IT) program is a two-year program for high school juniors and seniors in which students are introduced to the inner workings of computers. IT activities are designed to familiarize students with microcomputer hardware, operating system software, operating systems, computer network and network security. Students will learn to configure, diagnose and repair PC's and networks.

Coursework is designed to prepare students for the CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, TestOut PC Pro, Network Pro, Security Pro and Cisco CCST certification assessments. This program also offers some dual credit through East Central College and State Technical College.

Students will learn personal development, work attitude and leadership skills as a part of the program and their membership in SkillsUSA, the national career and technical student organization.

After a student completes the TestOut PC Pro and CompTIA A+ certifications they are eligible to participate in an internship or apprenticeship opportunity to put their skills to practice and gain valuable experience.
